Remembering 9/11 And the Man In the Red Bandana

I’m sure most people have seen this by now. I still watch it every 9/11. It’s sort of my way of remembering the day.  It’s especially relevant today when I actually didn’t even realize what day today was when I woke up. I just got lost in worrying about Barstool shit and totally lost track of the date. Shit like this will put stuff in perspective fast. I still cry everytime I watch it. “Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear.” Like I’d love to believe that I would have done what Welles Crowther did here, but honestly I doubt it. I probably would have hightailed it out of there. That’s what makes this story and Welles Crowther so special. You know he was scared shitless and still risked his life to save others. He is a true American hero any way you look at it. Guys like him make you proud to be an American.
